long time no post.
Jan 31st
After a long break of not posting for a variety of reasons namely laziness, not doing anything “exciting”, winter depression, and not being able to connect with the neighbors wifi connection…I thought I found something to post. Namely the lack of knowledge of the First Amendment by high school students. Here are some selected quotes from the article…
…when told of the exact text of the First Amendment, more than one in three high school students said it goes “too far” in the rights it guarantees. Only half of the students said newspapers should be allowed to publish freely without government approval of stories.
Three in four students said flag burning is illegal… About half the students said the government can restrict any indecent material on the Internet.
Maybe they don’t care or are just stupid Republicans. I don’t know. I always thought they young people were supposed to be the liberal ones fighting the opression of their conservative parents. Or not. I guess when you can text message till your thumbs are sore you don’t really care about freedom of the press and what not.

We wish we were still there. We made an extravagant trip to Hawaii, Maui and Kauai for our honeymoon two and a half years ago. We saw a PBS special on the islands and thought it would be fun to post some of our pictures from the trip.
