wosu’s go auction!

A Picture Share!
Through Sue’s work, we volunteered for WOSU by answering phones for their annual Go Auction!. It was pretty cool. It went really fast, Sue was on one end of a bidding war for some lake front property. The bidders were going back and forth from Sue to another girl on the end of our row. Sue was happy that her guy had the winning bid of $6,200. My highlight came when the guy on the telephone said, “Is that you on TV with the beard?” I replied that it was. The guy thought it was pretty cool, because he was kind of on TV as well. It was really fun especially when the bids were flying in at the end of the auctions. We will probably do it next year. Above is the only snap I took with the crappy camera phone before we started.

reese’s pieces with nuts!

27 04 2005

Found in the candy machine at work. I had never seen them before and with my allergies to caffeine I am always on the look out for non-chocolate candy. I don’t know what to think about them, they taste kind of like M&M’€s and smell kind of like suntan lotion. The real problem is that the bag is only half full and for 65¢ the bag lasts about as long as the trip up the elevator to the third floor.

shelf design

27 04 2005

I need to build some more shelves. This one to be built is inspired by my friend Hall. He had his dad build him something similar for books and stuff. He probably stole the idea from someone else, but I will give him immediate credit. Basically I will cut the boards to length, route through the back side of the verticals halfway and route through the front side of the horizontal halfway. Slide all the pieces together and that should be it. Hopefully I get some time to do this soon.

wow an actual incoming link.

While looking at my stats for the blog tonight I was befuddled by the fact that I had actual visitors. I wondered who they were and where they came from. I tracked the referrals down to this link, which is a Minnesota Women’s Basketball fan site’s message board. The were linking to my page with a picture of when Minnesota women’s head basketball coach was in high school in Fayette. What can you do, its not Slashdot, but its more than my usual visitors which include me, Sue, Sue, Ellen, Brandon, Karl, Jen, Cathy, my mom sometimes and the girls from Sue’s work.

darcy and maya

23 04 2005

This morning we took darcy over to maya’s house so they could play. Too bad it was a crappy day and the dogs got all wet. There are a few more pictures on the flickr sight so click the picture and see the two puppies waiting patiently to go back in the house and get dried off. Oh and darcy pooped in maya’s basement and peed on her carpet.
