A couple of weeks ago Grandpa Ron and I went sledding, while Ewan cried and wanted held by mommy. The two trips she took him down the kiddy hill were too much for him. He would have rather walked around the snow in our yard, but we dragged him to the park during his nap time. Next time we are going to buy some better sleds, and take him earlier in the day.

Ewan and Santa
Dec 12
After a week of talking up Santa. Ewan was already to go and see him…until we got in line. As we got closer and closer to actually sitting on the Jolly Elf’s lap, Ewan got very quiet and very clingy. By the time we were there he was just throwing a fit and wanting to go to the Buckeye shop so he could hug a Ewan sized Brutus doll, whom daddy meanly took away.
Ewan and Oinker
Dec 4
Ewan’s daycare has a scrap book with the adventures of the traveling stuffed pig “Oinker”
Luckily we headed home for Thanksgiving to the scrapbook queen Granna Kate and her supplies. Ewan enjoyed playing, sleeping, and wrestling with Oinker. Granna and I took the pictures while Auntie Andrea and Granna put the pages together.
Blankets and Friends
Oct 21

This should be a Sue post, but she is not feeling well so I will post it for her like I usually do. Three weekends ago, a week before the baby was borned (Juno, the movie, referenced wrong spelling), we went home to do some stuff.
I spent that Saturday at my old high school. They are tearing it down, due to pollution and the fact that they built a new one. Everything that was too crappy to go to the new school was auctioned off: I bought an old beat up piano, that for now will stay in my parents basement until we find a new house to put it in to. Ewan played with grandma, and Sue went a gallivanting with her sister to McQueen’s orchard and to a four hour lunch her old high school friends, Sara, Jenell, and Amy.
Blankets..

Sue decided to teach her self to crochet. So she has spent most every sitting moment to make a blanket for at the time was an unnamed nephew. She did not think much of the two colored blanket, so she made another to give to Baby Jacobs.
Xena (1994-2008)
Sep 9
We (mom and dad) took Xena to the vet today at 5 p.m. She has gone on to better places where she can chase rabbits.
-Mom
Xina adopted us when I was in high school. Her mother was a neighbor’s dog, that was looking for food and ended up in our barn in the dead of winter. We captured the puppies and took them back to the neighbor. A couple of days later the bitch and puppies were back and we we captured them again, except for Xena she was too scarred to come out from under the wood pile. We took the other dogs back, where the puppies were locked in a shed by the neighbor and they froze/starved.
We kept Xena, she was always shy and scared of most people even as a puppy. She lay by our older dog Jet when he was sick and she saved our cat, Mary, and her kittens when she was giving birth and another cat was pestering her.
She liked to go on walks with dad, up and down the two miles that he walks in the morning. She was the ultimate scavenger and hunter. She would bring all sort of carrion to the front yard. She would hide in my parents room when people came in the house. She would come out for special people and children.
This summer she was diagnosed with Chushing’s Disease when she could no longer hold her bladder. She was gated off in the kitchen, which she would stay in at night and dad would mop in the morning. She went from a vibrant and energetic this spring, to not being able to get up off the kitchen floor this weekend, when my mom bumped into her and knocked her over.
So my parents made the decision this weekend to put her down.
It’s really sad.
