Here is some pictures from last Saturday. We drove up to Dublin to play some tennis with some Pink03 friends…I drove a too fast for no good reason and now I am doing my part to help Dublin make some more roundabouts.
After hitting the yellow ball around, swinging, and sliding, we went over to Bryan and Christy’s house for some BBQ. Then we went to the dancing bunnies and the Spray Park.
Last Saturday we met Jill and played on the playground and tried to hit the tennis ball back and forth over the net. This picture here will be the one they show on tv when Ewie is at the US Open. Although he more or less was a moving target while we were playing tennis, he managed not to get a direct hit all day. When he got sick of tennis we all went to the playground.
My boss decided that seven of us needed to be certified concrete testers before December. So we rented a van, drove to State College, and learned how to test concrete. We also learned where the bars were.
After two games in 96 degree heat we posed with the trophy.
The Team Formally Known as ACE won our league and got a trophy. Unfortunately we were eliminated from the City Wide Champ of Champs Tournament in the second round. We had just came back to win our first game 11-10 and we had to play again. We forgot to show up for the first inning and gave up 8 runs. We then only let them score 1 run for the rest of the game, but were not able to hit well enough to come back and lost 9-6. Thus we ended up the season with 9 wins and 3 losses.
In an improvement from last season, the Pink 03s finish solidly in the middle of the pack with a 13-11 record, and will have a long shot to make the playoffs. With the holiday week on tap for next week, the 03s will also have to wait out their bye week to see if the teams ahead of them suck it up, so they can slide into the Playoff.
